Casa Osito (Bear Cub) is close to Santiago Square with shopping, restaurants, and market. The location is perfect! The architectural features built into Casa Osito make it unique. The ancient stone walls, high ceilings, original pasta tiles and open living area provide a gorgeous and functional space for enjoying your holiday.

The house is truly lovely, all on one level with 2 large bedrooms with King beds, 2.5 bathrooms, and a private pool. The living area is open plan, with the living room flowing into the kitchen and dining area. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and looks out to the pool and patio area. Each of the two bedrooms is very large and each has a king bed and armoires for clothes. The house has a light and open feel with the addition of numerous skylights for ventilation. Each bedroom has mini splits to keep things cool.

Casa Osito was recently renovated and is architecturally exquisite and combines the old colonial charm of beamed ceilings, stonework and pasta tiles with a modern update. The kitchen and master bedroom face the pool and patio area. The house features furniture from Yucatan Custom Furniture and Capacua (as well as some funky antique pieces), lighting from Takto and artwork from well-known Merida artists. We have a funky old cabinet with Coca Cola on it as the TV stand. The loveliest features of the homes are the exposed rock walls, and the soaring ceilings with the beams. As with our other properties, Casa Osito is a combination of old and new.

Casa Osito is ideally located near Santiago Square, Santa Lucia Square and the main square and with easy walking distance to restaurants, shops, art galleries, theaters and many attractions. The house is very close to Santiago and only about 5 blocks from the main square; a very easy walk. 5 blocks to Santa Lucia, with all of it’s amazing restaurants. And 8 blocks to Paseo de Montejo. You will find the Centro of Merida to be very walkable from Casa Osito.
