Restored by an acclaimed local architect, Casa Caballo is ideally located to enjoy the historical center of Merida. The first floor of Casa Caballo is an open plan living room, dining room and kitchen; perfect for family gatherings and relaxation. For your downtime, Netflix is available on the Smart TV in the living room. You also have a Bluetooth speaker to permit listening to your own music. The dining room table is a custom piece made by George Samuelson, a local furniture artisan. Hi-speed wifi is available throughout the house.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need if you want to cook. Purified water is provided, as well as coffee. The refrigerator has ice made from purified water as well, so no need to worry. We provide you with basic kitchen equipment and appliances including a toaster and coffee machine so that you can fuel up with a satisfying breakfast to start your day. Coffee, creamer and sugar is provided — no need to run to the nearest mini-mart for these basics.

The kitchen leads on to the patio with a sitting area and pool. There is a BBQ on the patio for those days when you want to grill rather than sampling one of Mérida’s fantastic restaurants. There is also an outdoor shower if you want to rinse off when you get home from a day of touring. The patio is completely enclosed by high walls for privacy and security. There is a half bath off the kitchen. The washer and dryer are located in the storage room off of the patio.

The house has a light and open feel with the addition of numerous skylights for ventilation to help keep things cool as well as mini splits in all of the bedrooms and living spaces.

Upstairs, each bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom. The master suite is large, with an attached sitting room and private patio overlooking the pool. There are two twin beds in the guest room, which are perfect for families.

The house features custom made furniture from Yucatan Custom Furniture, furniture and lighting from Takto (including the dining table made by George Samuelsson) as well as antiques and artwork made by Merida’s local artists.
